2010

so a new year has started.
I remember when I was young that time moved so slowly. Nothing happened when you thought it would and one year sounded and seemed like forever.
O what I would give for that slow year. That long lasting time. Now thing go to quickly. Time flies by so fast., and one year. That just isn't long enough.
The kids grow too fast. The months pass to fast. The world moves to fast.
It is true, just when you think everything that needs to be done is done, and you have a few minutes to stop and smell the roses. There is more to do. Things you forgot. Thing others need from you. Things you added to yourself.
So my goal this year. ( among others of course ) Take a breath. slow my steps, look around and enjoy the beauty that is everywhere.
I will listen to the wind and watch the birds in the trees. I will look at the clouds like I did when I was a child. I will hold the hugs a little longer, even if the kids think I am weird. I will find joy in silence. I will enjoy the snow fall. ( I really will )
I think what I am saying is I will try my best to slow down and look around me. I will find peace in my imperfection and know that I can be made better through my savior, and I will be OK with that.

The Christmas Sweater

a novel, by Glenn Beck

What a great, up lifting book to read, to really put you in the holiday spirit. The book is full of love and pain and hope. I really loved this book. I found it to both make me laugh and cry. In fact I was reading at a break will I was working and found myself holding back tears.
Now I do not always have such an emotional reaction to something I read, but I found that this book touched my heart. I remembered being a child angry and hurt and lashing out at others rather then being hurt by them.
Take the time to read this book. It will not cost you much of your much needed time this crazy month and I know you will be better for it.
I bought the copy so just borrow mine.

Boys

Aren't they cute? They make me so happy. I smile when I see them play together. When they read together. When they just sit and watch TV together.
I am not saying they never fight or are in any way perfect. I am just saying. I love my boys so much!!!

It was yersterday

Holy cow the day got away from me and I didn't get to post the 14 most wonderful thing about Haybear on her 14th birthday.
First I should say. I am not old enough to have a 14 year old. Even if she thinks I am old. Second. I can't believe she is 14 already. I know she was just born. I just don't know how that happened. Anyway. 14 fab things about her.
1- She rocks in school. Smart, smart, smart.
2- Beautiful Brown eyes.
3- She can out swim most anyone. And her back stroke kicks butt.
4- She is a friend to everyone.
5- She loves her brothers and sister. She really does.
6- Her love of the scriptures.
7- Funny, funny, funny girl.
8- When she is on your side. You can't stop her.
9- Her testimony will change lives.
10-She sings like an angel.
11-Her energy level is never ending.
12-She makes a mean Mac and Cheese.
13-She takes care of others.
14-She is mine.
That is the best thing about her. She is mine. I am so blessed to be her mother. I could not ask for a better daughter.
So sorry it is a day late. Bur Happy Birthday. Haybear. I love you!!!

The little things

Last night I had a meeting to go to for YW. It wasn't until 8pm so I sat down with my sweetie and we were watching The Amazing Race. He was not home Sunday night to watch it with the family. Anyway, We were watching the show when my time ran out and I needed to be at my meeting. What does he do? He pauses the show and states that he will wait for me to get back so we can watch together.
Seems small, but it's not. Those little things are what make me love him more and more everyday. Little things mean so much. I smile, a little note or text, a hug when you need one but don't want to say it. Some how all of the little things add up to this great big wonderful love that keeps just getting better. Even when you think it can't get better it does.
Now that does not mean that things are perfect. Not in this life time. But its nice to know that all of the little things help to make it perfect for the next life. The forever one.

Good Book

I Hate it When Exercise is the Answer
A fitness Program for the soul
by Emily Watts

This was a great read. I love reading Emily Watts. Her books are like talking to a good friend. This book is full of wonderful words of wisdom and also many things I should know if I were not hard headed.
So what exercises i.e chapters did I love?
Two Speeding tickets; An exercise in making a lasting change. Not just because I got two speeding tickets in one week as well, But because it is full of truth. We can't keep doing the same thing over and over and expect a different result. We have to change.
Happily Ever After What? An exercise in seizing Happiness now. I loved this chapter. I love being reminded that I need to be happy now. Not wait on some big thing, or amasing adventure to make me happy. I have so many things around me that bring me such great joy. Why would I wait for later.
This book falls under one of my favs. You will love it. It does not fail in any way. I love Emily Watts. she writes like she talking right to you, and I think she is. Read this book. You will LOVE it.
